Automatic Diagnostic Tests Machine

Pune based Mylab Discovery solutions, has designed a machine to automate the manual process of molecular Diagnostic Tests for Covid-19 and named it Compact-XL. This will automate the lab process from sample handling to preparing RT-PCR ready tubes. This machine can run 32 samples at a time which can be further increased when it is connected in a network.

WHO prequalifies Biosimilar of Trastuzumab to provide cheaper breast cancer medicine:-

The World Health Organisation has permitted the commercial use of a Biosimilar drug of Trastuzumab, to treat breast cancer.

In the year 2018, about 21 lakh women were suffering from breast cancer. About 6 lakh 30 thousand women died due delay in treatment facilities.

The annual price of Trastuzumab is USD 20,000. It is not affordable by most of the women patients due to its high price. The biosimilar medicine of Trastuzumab is about 65% cheaper than its actual price.

Eight West African Countries now share common currency “ECO”

Eight African countries have agreed to change the name of their common currency to Eco and severed their earlier currency CFA Franc’s links to former colonial ruler France. The announcement was made during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Ivory Coast. The region had been using CFA franc for the last 74 years in Western Africa and France acted as guarantor of any financial crisis.

South Korea Started Universal Super High-Speed Internet service:-

South Korea has started super high- speed Internet service for the whole country. This makes the country in 8th in the world to provide universal high-speed Internet to all citizens. The transmission speed is 100 mbps.

Japan is the Topper in the most powerful passports of 2020

Henley Passport Index 202 has released the top rankings of the world’s most powerful passports. Japan’s passport rank first in this index. This ranking is based on the data collected by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This list is prepared on the new Visa policy. Japan passport holders can visit 191 countries without any visa. The rank of India is 84 in this Index while Nigeria’s passport ranked 199th as the weakest passport in the world.

First Non- UN Asian Language:-

On the Occasion of world Hindi Day United Nation launched its first Hindi News service website. It is the part of UN pilot programme to promote global rules and values. Other Six official language of UN are English, Spanish, French, Chinese and Russian.

First Lokpal of the country- Pinaki Chandra Ghosh

On 19 March 2019 Mr Pinaki Chandra Ghosh has been appointed as first Lokpal of the country. He was selected by a five member selection panel comprising the PM, CJI, Speaker of Lok sabha, Leader of opposition and an eminent jurist nominated by president of india.

Aarohi Pandit the first woman in World flies Light Plane across Atlantic

Aarohi Pandit an Indian from Mumbai made history on 13th May 2019 to become World’s first woman to fly a light sport aircraft Sinus 912. Flying across 18 countries and 37000 km She landed in Iqaluit airport in Canada. The Sinus 912 was built in Slovenia in 2016. It is a single Engine two seater and tricycle in design. Aarohi was selected among the eight contenders and trained in Serbia.

Commercial Surrogacy Banned In India:-

On 3rd July of 2019 the bill for banning of commercial surrogacy has been approved by the cabinet and allows close relatives to act as surrogacy in case of infertile couples for altruistic reason. The proposes to regulate surrogacy in India by National surrogacy board and State surrogacy board.

Renamed Islands of Andaman Groups:-

The Three Islands among 572 islands of Andaman has been renamed. Ross Island- Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island Havelock Island – Swaraj Dweep Island Neil Island – Shaheed Dweep Island
