What is Virus?

A virus is sub microscopic infectious agent which have both living and non-living property. It is unable to grow outside of a host cell. Each viral particle or virion consist of a single nuclei acid i.e (RNA or DNA) within a protective protein coat called capsid. Viruses are only replicate within the cells of animals plants and bacteria.

Some examples of common human diseases caused by viruses include the common cold, influenza, chickenpox, diarrhea and cold sores. Serious diseases such as Ebola, AIDS, avian influenza and SARS are caused by viruses.

Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause disease in Mammals and Birds. It belongs to a family of viruses that appear like spiked rings under a microscope. They are so named due to these spikes, which form a halo around their viral envelope.

  • Avoid touching your mouth, face, nose with unwashed hand.
  • Always cover your mouth and nose with tissue paper or mask.
